Queensland Telugu Association

On June 21st June 2008, 14 Brisbane telugu people met at 140, Main Street, Kangaroopoint Qld 4079 in the board room and decided to start Queensland Telugu Association (QTA).

An interim body consisting of Dr. Prakash Nallamilli as president and Mr. Dasharadhi Karamchedu as treasurer has been formed unanimously.

An executive committee of 12 people present at the meeting (Mrs. Bala Denduluri, Mr. Joga Rao Nakka, Dr.Prasada rao Nagulapalli, Mr. Raju chamala Mrs. Rama Kanchibotla, Dr. Sarma Kanchibotla, Mr. Sayi Lakshminarayana Gollapudi, Mr. Srinivasa Reddy Kota, Mrs Vani Chamala, Mr. Vinayaka rao Ramagiri, Mrs. Vijaya Madhavi Gollapudi, Mr Viswanath Denduluri) will advise and help the interim body to cpmplete the formalties of association formation.

In the coming six months 2008 Queensland Telugu Association will take shape to start its activities.

Mr Dasharadhi, Treasurer informed that registration of Qld Telugu Association is done and Mr. Sayi Lakshminarayana Gollapudi has been coopted as Secretary.

Past Events of Qld Telugu Association

(1)Queensland Telugu Association conducted an Evening Of Devotional Music on The Occasion Of Sri Tallapaka Annamacharya’s 600th Birthday.on: 6th September 2008.from: 4p.m. to 7p.m.

at Sri Lakshmi Narayan Mandir 1173, Mt Cotton Rd,Burbank, Qld 4156.

While Ms Dr Pratyusha and Mr Joga Rao Nakka ably conducted as MCs, Ms Rama Kanchibotla, Ms Usha Chivukula, Ms Leena Palekar,Ms Vijya madhavi Gollapudi, Ms Sridevi, Ms Harini, Ms Srutiabhiram, Ms Priyanka Bolem, Ms Roshini, Mr Kaushik and

Mr Kamal Guntur,Mr Srikanth Ayyangar treated the audience with the Annamacharya kirtanas for solid three hours.Vote of thanks of the secretary Mr Sai Gollapudi is followed by delicious prasadam.

Queensland Telugu Association invites all local talent to participate in this event.

This year, cultural event will be hosted by QTA for the first time. If you and/or your kids wish to perform in this event, please express your interest by sending your contact details to this email.

At the Annual General Meeting of Queensland Telugu Association held at the Indooroopilly Senior Citizens Hall, 60 Stamford Road, Indooroopilly, the interim committe has been dissoved and the new executive committee was elected unanimously.

Current entertainment activities includes: Drama, Dances, Solo performances etc.

QTA is looking for volunteers among members to help cook some dishes on the menu so that entry costs can be kept at low. It is anticipated that a minimum of 10-12 members required to help with cooking.

They will be rewarded with free entry that night and also compensated with the costs of raw materials required. Your assistance with this regards is greatly appreciated.

QTA is also looking for some contributions/sponsorships to assist with other costs. This is the best way to get your business and services a good exposure.If you or any of your friends wishes to sponsor some events,
